ETC is committed to providing a high quality service to all our clients. ETC has a quality system accredited by NATA to AS ISO/IEC 17025:2005 (this is the laboratory specific equivalent standard of ISO 9000 series). As part of this system we have documented procedures and policies pertaining to all areas of operations. ETC has an experienced quality assurance manager who reports directly to the Directors.

ETC has an open door policy with regard to quality. Any client is welcome to audit our quality system and procedures. Independent audits are routinely conducted by NATA.


ETC was the first laboratory in Australia to gain NATA accreditation for odour analysis according to AS4323.3.

As part of ongoing compliance with the laboratory quality system standard ISO 17025, ETC participated in an inter-laboratory comparison of odour analysis conducted by OLFAtec (Germany) in June 2005. 47 laboratories took part worldwide, of which 18 achieved 4 out of 4 accurate values. ETC was one of these laboratories.

ETC has extensive experience in conducting odour surveys for industry sectors such as the rendering industry, livestock industry, composting facilities and major municipal waste water treatment plants.

Odour sampling techniques employed by ETC include isolation flux, fugitive, and point source sampling. We also can arrange preparation and hire of odour sampling containers to clients with their own sampling capabilities. We offer a same day analysis service to minimise sample storage times.
